Philippine Komiks according to Gerry Alanguilan

Gerry Alanguilan just posted an interesting and eye-opening article called The State of Comics Preservation in the Philippines over at the The Comics Journal. Highly recommend you check it out. It's an altogether sad story, to be honest. Still, Gerry thinks there's still hope left for old komiks. I hope that because of his article, lots more people will feel the same way.

Gerry also spoke about the rising indie komiks scene in the Philippines in a previous but fairly recent The Comics Journal post. Check it out here.

Are there any people out there who still care about the state of Filipino komiks? I'd love to know about them. The movement may have lots of voices, but it seems Gerry's the loudest one we've got.
